Kenneth Queener: Probably the best explanation of Hmong cooking I've ever seen is in the "Minnesota Ethnic Foods" cookbook by Anne R. Kaplan. It's available through Amazon, and it has an entire section on how Hmong foodways have developed and borrowed from other cultures.It also includes recipes of traditional Hmong dishes. It will do a better job of explaining than I can, and the entire cookbook is very interesting to read....Show more
