Help replacing laptop optical drive?

Violette Vanek: Hi there!First question I have for you would have to be how much speed is the Hp tx1000 optical drive supposed to be getting? Next question I have would be are the cds and dvds CDRW+ or CDRW- or DVDRW+ or DVDRW-? That could be an issue as the optical drive that you replaced in your laptop may not be best suited with it. I suggest maybe taking it a step further and check the writing speeds on the Tx1000's optical drive before you decide to do anythingNext, I would advise you to try not new cds but other datum (Plural of Data) cd's like program specific cds and see if your optical drive can load it fast enough. It may be a compatibility issue, and at the worst, you may have to buy an external optical drive for like 40 USD. Hope this helped a littleBye! :)...Show more
