Ermelinda Stalnaker: Its the same thing they are learning in Public School. Just taught different and is more relaxed.
Antonia Mogg: Both learn mostly the same thing.
Walter Scordino: Parent's are once again your teachers in your life, and teachers you find in schools do the same, they teach you right from wrong. However the social life is being avoided when you home school. But in the end of the day you do learn the same thing but in a different environmental setting. Then again, when you are in school and your given very much a lot of work to do, and you have so much of stress that when you get home you feel very much frustrated. Then again, the same scenario of being stressed and frustrated happens even at home. For you have to keep up to your parents needs, and make sure what you do satisfies them, and that will sometimes get on your nerves, for it will work in your head that wow these are my parents i must show them am good at something, and that stress ! will literally get you sick from working too much, and sometimes your parents can be having the same pressure you get at school. However i am not saying your parents maybe a bad influence. Nevertheless its you who will be facing the pressure and you might try to do it better. Same in school you may try to work harder than the others and that could increase competition and pressure, leading to prejudice and probably discrimination. In the end of the day you learn the same thing. Both teachers are the same. Your parents are again your teachers, now don't you forget that ! :)...Show more
Loise Mausser: Students learn in both. Both are legal educational opportunities.Students educated both ways get into college.(We have never learned the same things as the public school! We have never used the same materials, except by accident.)Edits: You are being told over and over that "home schoolers learn the same things." Even by people who admit it is their "opinion" which means ! they have no idea if it is true of not! SOME home schoolers ! choose to learn the same things, but MOST don't! Why home school if you are just going to learn the same things? What would be the point? Home schooling gives you the freedom to learn what you want, and how you want to learn it. Meaning, materials best suited for your individual needs. They may learn the "same" as far as learning to read, or learning to do multiplication, but at the "end of the day" they may have skipped math and English to have time to catalog their music collection, feed their reptiles, design a web series, program a computer game, film a documentary, cook the family meal, or just sleep all day! We never follow the standards. We skipped studying our state history. My 10th grader is not learning world history. At the "end of the day" he will have learned something, but absolutely not "the same things" as a public school student!...Show more
