Toronto high schools subjects and education system?

Damion Oleksa: First of all this information is based mostly on my school but I live in a different province in Canada so the education can vary but not greatly. To graduate you need credits, one credit is a total of 110 hours of time in class. You will need 24-36 credits total. That means you need to take a total of 24-36 courses. They are divided into semesters, and one credit is equal to one semester with two semesters a year. I am in grade 10 right now and their are some basic mandatory classes you need to take. Math, English, and science would most likely be mandatory as well maybe physical education. Their will be 5-6 classes a day with two or three electives. If you don't like a certain class you can drop it, meaning quit it but to a certain degree like one class a semester to year. But you can't drop mandatory classes. In my province grade 9 is still middle school so that's why we only need 24 credits total, this means if I take 5 classes each semester from grade 1! 0 to 12 I will have 30 credits but I won't have to have 30 so I can have only a half semester of school in grade 12. School will start either at 8 or 9 am and end between 3 and 4 pm.Here's my school system so far and what I had to learn (different province)Grade 10 Semester 1 (9:00 a.m. To 3:15 p.m. | August 28 to December 21 2012)- Class 1: English A10 (mandatory): short stories & poems with questions, 1 book report, & 1 in class book reading.
