Master's in Special Education or English Language Learners?

Aubrey Tirri: It depends a lot on your personality. Special Ed is demanding and frustrating, not so much with the kids but with the crazy parents. I won't even mention the legal system and the union, both of which complicate things beyond any hope of any progress for anybody. But if that's your thing and you think you can do some good, maybe that's your field. ELL on the other hand is growing by leaps and bounds. As more and more immigrants flood the country AND no particular demands are made on them to learn English, there is a growing demand for ELL professionals.Frankly, were it me, I'd go for the ELL. But again, it is a personal choice, depending on what you think will be suit you in the long wrong. Congrats on finishing your undergrad degree! Good luck in the future!...Show more
